We live in troubled times. That's because we live in a troubled world. This is a world that needs a Savior. Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world and He wants to be your personal Savior.
The Bible says that "All have sinned and come short of the Glory of God." You and I have broken God's commandments and broken His heart. That makes us sinners, and the wages of sin is death. But that is not God's ultimate plan for us. He is not willing that any should perish. He has provided a way for us to turn from sin and receive the Gift of eternal life!
When Jesus died, He paid the penalty that our sins deserve. He became our substitute. He carried our sin, sickness and poverty to the cross. There He satisfied the justice of God. Now that the penalty is paid God can lavish His amazing love upon us.
When you trust Jesus to save you and repent of your sin God gives you the free gift of eternal life. You can't earn it. You don't deserve it. It's not because you've been good but because HE'S been good! You have the sure hope of heaven in the future and the comforting promise of His presence right now in this life no matter what life may bring your way.
Pray right now..."Heavenly Father, I need You! I believe you sent Jesus to die on the cross in my place. I believe that Jesus is raised from the dead. I confess that I am a sinner. I receive your forgiveness. From this day forward I am born again and Jesus is Lord!"
Health is a blessing from God sickness is a curse from the devil. Jesus said, "The thief comes only in order to steal, kill, and destroy. I have come in order that you might have life---life in all its fullness." John 10:10
Sin and sickness are our twin enemies. They are tools the devil uses to steal, kill, anmd destroy. Thank God that Jesus takes care of both. "Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases." Psalm 103:2
Jesus carried our sin, sickness and poverty to the cross. "Surely He has borne our sicknesses, and He carried our pain; yet we esteemed Him plagued, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions; He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His wounds we ourselves are healed." Isaiah 53:4-5
When Jesus was on earth He was the perfect expression of His Father's will. (See Hebrews 1:3) He always did everything that pleased the father (See John 8:29) Jesus never made anyone sick, poor or miserable. Read the Gosples, Mathew, Mark, Luke and John and you will see Him healing everyone that came to Him. No one was ever denied no matter how severe the case. Thank God Jesus is the same yesterday today and forever! (Hebrews 13:8)
Jesus put the gifts of healing in the hands of believers. It is part of the great commission. "He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." (Mark 16:15-18)
Pray right now..."Heavenly Father, You are the Lord who heals me! I believe you sent Jesus to carry my sin, sickness and poverty to the cross. I believe that Jesus rose from the dead victorious over the all the power of Satan. By faith I confess that by His stripes I am healed. In Jesus Name!
Because He Is Worthy...
The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.(Revelation 4:10-11)
This is the scene that John saw in his vision of heaven. The elders that gather around God's throne worship Him day and night. The song they sing is "Thou art Worthy". God is worthy to receive glory honor and power because He is the creator of all things. John goes on to tell us of more about the elder's song. Thou art worthy for you were slain and have redeemed us by your blood. Yes, God is worthy; worthy because He created us, and worthy because He shed His blood to redeem His fallen creation.
Because He Inhabits Our Praise...
But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel. (Psalm 22:3)
Our praise attracts His presence. Oh, how we need His presence! King David said, "In Your presence is fullness of Joy." The joy of the Lord is our strenth. When we praise Him He shows up right in the middle of our circumstance to bring us the victory.
God is not insecure, He doesn't need our praise to prop up a sagging self image. Praise does far more for us than it does for Him. When we praise God for what He has done in the past we realize what He is able to do for us in our present situation. When we praise God for who He is we exalt His character and remind ourselves of His love, grace, mercy and power.
Praise Brings the Victory...
King Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah were in a real pickle. They had enemies form the north, the west, and the south attacking at once. After a time of prayer and fasting God spoke through a prophet. "You will not even have to fight in this battle for the battle is their Lord's." The King believed the prophets word and sent the praise team and choir out ahead of the army. The scripture says, "He appointed people to sing to the LORD and praise him for the beauty of his holiness. As they went in front of the troops, they sang, "Thank the LORD because his mercy endures forever!" As they started to sing praises, the LORD set ambushes against the Ammonites, Moabites, and the people of Mount Seir who had come into Judah. They were defeated!" (2Chronicles 20:21-22)
We may not face physical armies but we are certainly in battle for our very lives. The apostle Paul said, "Fight the good fight of faith." Praise is our best defence. The word Judah literally means praise. When the people of Israel marched into battle they always sent Judah first. When you face a crisis, send Judah first. Make praise your first line of defense.
Praise Brings Freedom...
Paul and Silas were arrested for preaching the Gospel. They were arrested, beaten and cast into prison. They were shackled and chained. They had every reason to be angry, depressed and defeated but instead they praise God. Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God. The other prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly, a violent earthquake shook the foundations of the jail. All the doors immediately flew open, and all the prisoners' chains came loose. (Act 16:25-26)
In the midnight hour when things are dark, Praise Him! When you feel mistreated or misunderstood, Praise Him! When you are facing physical or emotional pain, Praise Him! Don't wait for things to get better. Praise Him and things will get better.
Ways to Praise...
Sing, Sing, Sing...
